Every update we release is shaped by you — the drivers and passengers who use Udhë every day. Version 1.7.3 is no different. Based on your feedback, we’ve focused on giving drivers more flexibility, keeping everyone better informed, and fixing issues that were getting in the way.

Here’s what’s new.

Driver Flexibility: Passenger Removal Before Departure

We heard from many drivers about situations where the 60-minute cancellation lock created problems — even when both sides agreed the ride wouldn’t work out.

What changed: Drivers can now remove passengers from a ride up to 10 minutes before departure, even during the 60-minute restriction period.

Why this matters:

  • For passengers: If you realize you can’t make the ride and let the driver know through the ride chat, the driver can remove you. This reduces your penalty to 50% of the seat price instead of the full amount, and frees up the seat for someone who needs it at the last minute.
  • For drivers: If an unexpected situation forces you to cancel during the restriction period, you can properly notify your passengers and remove them from the ride — so they won’t be blocked from reserving another ride within the ±1 hour window.
  • For the community: Last-minute seats become available again, helping someone who really needs a ride.

Important — accountability applies: Every removal is reviewed by our team as a report. If a removal is unreasonable, or if a passenger had confirmed their participation in the ride chat and is still removed, the driver will bear responsibility for that action. This system is built on trust — use it fairly.

Ride Reminder Notifications

One of the most common issues we’ve seen is users forgetting they have an upcoming ride — leading to no-shows, blocked seats, and penalties that could have been avoided.

What’s new: We’ve introduced ride reminder notifications that alert both passengers and drivers about upcoming rides. You’ll receive a notification before your ride so you always know when it’s time to go.

Additional notifications we introduced:

  • Penalty notifications — when a penalty is issued to your account, you’ll be notified immediately so there are no surprises
  • Refund notifications — when a platform fee refund is credited to the driver’s wallet, you’ll be notified right away

These notifications are designed to keep you informed about everything happening on your account, so you’re never caught off guard.

We fixed an issue where dynamic links were not functioning properly. Now, ride sharing works as it should.

When you share a ride post link, anyone who clicks it will be taken directly to that ride post in the app. This makes it easy to share rides with friends, family, or travel groups — and they’ll land exactly where they need to be.

Bug Fixes

We also addressed some bugs that were reported by the community:

  • Samsung device performance — some users reported performance problems on Samsung devices. This has been resolved, and the app should now run smoothly across all devices.
  • Chat notifications after removal — users were receiving chat notifications for rides they had been removed from. This has been fixed — once you’re removed from a ride, you’ll no longer receive notifications for that ride’s chat.

Keep the Feedback Coming

Version 1.7.3 exists because of your messages, reports, and suggestions. Every piece of feedback helps us build a better platform for everyone.
